Meet the founder

BizNatal founder – Carolyn Jeffrey

BizNatal was founded in 2020 by South Australian regional entrepreneur Carolyn Jeffrey.

Carolyn has a wealth of business experience including:

  • Editing and managing regional media outlets for more than 30 years,
  • Managing and growing a successful regional machinery & event hire company
  • Establishing several microbusinesses of her own.

During her career managing and editor newspapers she was presented with the Rural Press Employee of the Year Award in recognition of her work to change the fortunes of The Times newspaper in Victor Harbor from decline to being one of the most successful country newspapers in the country. She gained a reputation as a troubleshooter and a manager who ran a tight and lean, but successful operation. This has formed the basis of her own business success too.

She is currently the principal of CJ’s Business Solutions, her own enterprise established in 2011 to provide cost-effective and practical solutions for regional small businesses.  The range of services includes websites, marketing, administration, event management, training and business consulting.

In 2017 Carolyn founded a social enterprise, the Women in Business Regional Network, which provides support, promotion, training and advocacy for women in business throughout regional South Australia.  Her work with the network led to a nomination for the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year in 2019.  In 2019 SA Woman Australia presented her with its Community Award and she was also named the 2020 Inspirational Businesswoman for the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia.

“I have spent most of my life in regional Australia and have a passion for those in the country.  In my media days I’ve campaigned on their behalf through my writing, and now I have an opportunity to further assist through my businesses,” Carolyn says.

“Having established several microbusinesses of my own – some successful and some which have been closed – I know the challenges and also the difficulties in getting recognition for the sector.

“I have a reputation for being able to run businesses on a shoestring budget, and am always on the lookout for cost-effective opportunities for not only my own businesses, but also those of my clients.

“I want to do my bit to nurture the launch, development and growth of microbusinesses in regional Australia, and BizNatal is a great way to do this.”

Carolyn has gained a reputation for helping others grow and thrive and to pursue their dreams.
